Raped, tormented, she left our world,
We burnt candles, prayed for her,
The system promised, justice in speed,
Our hearts angered, and eyes did bleed,
And then began a mockery we saw,
A killer was shielded by the juvenile law,
And law indeed, turned juvenile and dumb,
The justice delivered left empathy numbed,
What's so juvenile about a crime barbaric?
Rape is heinous, isn't that so basic?
But defied was the logic by law,
Her soul screamed, her peace hacksawed,
She was raped again, relived that hell,
This time the rapist was justice itself.
And who will take blame, as the monster is freed?
Will justice be tried as another sister bleeds?
