Is this how women feel in india now?

She waved, I stopped,
She got in, my eyes dropped,
She looked uncomfortably for space,
Eyed me, walking in slow pace,
She sat down next to me,
And I turned away my knee,
She acted as if breathing in fear,
As she adjusted, sliding near,
Her eyes doubted my very presence,
I looked out the window; tense,
I felt the negative vibes, broke a sweat,
Squirming in my corner, tried to adjust,
The horn blew and off we rolled,
I moved my arm, brushing her skin cold,
She flinched as if electrocuted by an eel,
Is this how in India, now the women feel?
Unsafe and scared, I just never knew,
She was just a passenger, I was too.

Is she not human?

Standing in a corner, she had a passing thought,
Is this all what I have been made for?
As I stand every night, to be picked by a stranger,
Every night, my body, my character is torn.

Every night I go, deeper into the mud,
Every night I am laid, nude and bare,
Every night I am, labeled as a shame,
Why doesn’t the world stop to care?

Why every year, girls like me suffer?
Why no one bothers to look into the causes?
Why girls like me walk down this dirty road?
Why do they think of only character losses?

No girl in this world wants to sell herself,
No girl wants to sleep with strangers in night,
Every girl wants to live this life with dignity,
Every girl wants to live the way that is right.

A car stops by, a devil peeps out smiling,
As she opens the door, to sit by his side,
Standing in that corner, she realized,
This world will never try, to see the light.

She

She is battered, she is beaten,
She has to bear the brunt,
She is cursed, she is hurt,
Blamed for how things have turned.
She is the mother,
She’s the daughter,
She’s the sister,
She is the wife,
She is the hand that rocks the cradle,
A part of every life, yet it’s a surprise.

She is sadly the burden,
He wanted to get rid of,
So he puts her up for sale,
In a matrimonial shop.
He packs her away with him,
Never bothering to think,
Pays a fortune to say bye,
Leaves her to drown and sink.

She was never sent to school,
Can’t help her kids to read,
Yet somehow she gets blamed,
When grades begin to weep,
She wakes up before the sun,
To clean and cook a meal,
She sleeps last at the night,
Crushed under his heels.

She is just a toy for them,
Stripped naked and raped,
She is blamed for all his faults,
How his destiny is shaped,
She keeps on taking all,
The curses, canes and boots,
She was born with the sorry fate,
Thrown out of plane, no parachute.
